This software provides a method for training your peripheral vision so that you get used to a wider vision that help speed reading.
Wide eyes develop speed reading. Our central vision is the most focused part. However by concentrating on the not so clear peripheral vision you are able to develop the ability to read a wider stretch of content. That in turn helps you read more at any given time. This broad field of vision makes the searching process shorter. It is possible to widen our field and quicken our vision by using "Shultz tables". These tables are the means of training your vision. The practice requires is to softly look at a red dot in the centre of the table. You need to focus on all the other tables. There are controls available that cause small changes in the numbers. The trick is to be able to notice these changes while staying focused on the central object, the red dot.
The changes are triggered through clicking on the yellow arrows. You should concentrate so that you are able to notice changes. Attention can waver and the training is to practice such that the attention does not slip and you are able to notice the changes as you trigger the changes. This training increases peripheral vision and assists you in raising the velocity of your reading to a speed reading level. It is difficult to say if the theory is sound and how effective the training is. Speed reading is a useful tool and any tool that can help raise your reading speed is useful.
